GAME JAM Franco-Belge 2025

A look back at the second edition of the Franco-Belgian Game Jam

The 2nd edition of the Franco-Belgian Game Jam took place at TRAKK from March 24 to 28, 2025.

As a reminder, the Franco-Belgian Game Jamco-organized byFrench Embassy in Belgium, Gaming Factory and 4 partner schools, is a project financed by the Interreg France-Wallonie-Vlaanderen fund, which aims to strengthen cross-border collaboration in the field of video games. 

WALGA is delighted with the success of the event, which stems from the collaborative initiative with the French Embassy in Belgium during the Meet & Build 2023 where the country was honored and a delegation of studios, schools and public structures were able to establish the first contacts with our video game ecosystem in Wallonia. 

This event brought together 37 students, divided into 6 teams, from France, Wallonia and Flanders, from 4 partner schools - Howest, HEAJ, Rubika and Piktura - to create a video game together, share skills and stimulate innovation, while strengthening synergies between regions.

During the first 2 days, participants had the chance to attend conferences given by video game professionals:

- Pablo Coma: Post mortem de necro story

- Yvette Kooke: Story of LoveLine, a Game Jam Game

- Vincent Beck: Using mathematics to create video games

Over the next three days, they immersed themselves in the creation of a game around the theme of the regenerative economy.

The Game Jam jury was made up of Chloé Boels, Pauline Marlière, Léa Conrath, Dave Van Verdegem, Geoffrey Cantrel and Magalie Meyer.

Who are the big winners?

The prize for best game went to the Cowcoo team with their Cowboo game. They each won a €200 FNAC voucher and the opportunity to exhibit their game at the Meet & Build and Game Camp.

The price of Best related Game was awarded to the Alpha with the game Verdant Swarm. They each won a €20 steam voucher.

The People's Choice Award went to the team Icre Cream Steel with the game Bud's Oasis.

All teams also received one Caravane Sandwich game key per person.
